Phenomenal instruction and community. Legion Jiu Jitsu is more than just the art of jiu-jitsu. It’s a supportive community and family who embraced me and my kids. I consider them the best jiu-jitsu community in Middle Tennessee.
Great environment. It doesn't matter if you are an instructor or student everyone treats you like family. Every class is a challenge, but you leave with a sense of accomplishment.

When we were looking for a kid's program for our 7-year-old, we came across Legion via internet search. From the very first trial class, they welcomed our son with open arms and made him feel like he was already part of the Legion family. Fast forward 3 months and he's now going 3-4 times a week and absolutely loves it! I actually ended up joining myself and have really enjoyed the bond it has created between my son and me. You will not find a better coaching staff and facility in the area!!!
Exceptional community and great Jiu Jitsu. My elementary school boys and I have practiced here for over a year, and we have all learned a lot of technical skills, developed our discipline, and seen growth in boys' respect for authority thanks to the talented, dedicated leaders at the gym. I personally love the fact that, as a mom, I can practice at the same time as my kids 3 days a week.
Outstanding instruction and atmosphere for my 6 year old son! He has been going to Legion JJ in Hendersonville for about 2 years and loves it. I’m very happy to continue his JJ lessons with Legion in Hendersonville!
This is really a great Jiu Jitsu school. There is really something here for everyone of any level of ability and experience, from little kids classes and adult beginner classes, to women's and competition classes. Whatever your goal is for Jiu Jitsu, the black belts and coaches here work hard to make sure you're on the right path. It really has a family oriented vibe and it's really welcoming to newcomers. Highly recommend this school.

Legion feels like my second home. Professor Gabriel is an amazing instructor that clearly has a love for teaching jiu jitsu. As a 37 year old, I wish I started this journey earlier.
My husband and I decided to sign our daughter ( 9yrs old at the time, now nearly 13) for self defense. Legion Jiu Jitsu has done wonders on her self confidence, has embraced us as family to the point our 5 and 3 year olds, my husband and myself have joined. Professor Gabriel is a great instructor, always encouraging. He and the other coaches have created a positive and inclusive environment. Legion also offers a women’s program that is incredible as well, the women are welcoming and very supportive. There are exclusive women’s only classes on Friday nights and Saturday mornings. I love being apart of Legion.

Legion Jiu Jitsu / CheckMat Nashville is an excellent place to train for anyone looking to learn self defense and fundamentals as well as those interested in high level competition. First-rate instruction and the community is friendly, respectful, and supportive. Head professor Sean is an outstanding teacher and provides positive instruction for everyone, regardless of prior experience. All of the other professors and coaches are amazing as well. Membership allows you to train at their other locations and they have options for different class times throughout the day. Strongly recommend to anyone interested in learning BJJ or stopping by for a visit!

I attended my first class at Legion Jiu Jitsu Nashville today and had a great time. The professor, as well as the students were very welcoming. Overall it has a great vibe. I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a gym to train!
This place is awesome! Legions has super clean and friendly environment that is welcoming and safe for everybody to train. They go above and beyond to make sure everyone in class gets 1 on 1 tips from professor Sean which can sometimes be rare in other academy's. The price is also great for what you are able to learn here. Jiu jitsu is lifesaving and in my opinion is something that everyone should at least try once in life. Whether you are training to be a world champ or working out just for fun Legions has something to offer for everyone!
Professors Gabriel and Alex are top notch guys who have pushed me to work harder than I thought I could. I’ve lost 70lbs in about 5 months of attending. As long as you show up and put in the work, all aspects of your life and health will drastically improve.
